Problem Im having with a Geforce 6800

Recently got a Geforce 6800 from the FS/FT.

There's an issue I dont quite understand tho.

When using the DVI port on my Dell 1905FP. I only get the video in the Bios Display.
But as soon as it tries to go into windows. The signal cuts out and after a few seconds, my system reboots itself.

So I tried the VGA port. It shows everything fine in the Bios and boots into windows without any problems.

My motherboard is a Abit a8n-Sli
My PSU is Antec Smartpower 2.0 500watt.
Maxtor 300gb SATA
AMD Opty 144 0546
NEC 16x DVDRW
Liteon 16x DVDRom

Anyone have a problem like this before ?
I dont know what to do to try and fix this.

I'm reinstalling win xp and see if i can resolve this issue.
