Problem - High CPU Usage with LiteOn 16X Burner

I just got a new Lite-On 16X burner from NewEgg.com. I'm using Nero 5 that came with it. When I burn a CD I notice that the CPU Utilization is way high, Like 80%-100% all during the burn. Anyone know what is causing this problem? Im not quite sure how to check the firmware version of the drive from within W2k, but its the one that the drive shipped with. Thanks in advance.

512M Crucial PC133 Ram
VooDoo 3 AGP
20G IBM DeskStar
Abit BE-6 II

Check youre using DMA, not PIO.

I dont have an advanced tab in my device manager under the ATAPI/ATA Primary and secondary controllers in the properties to enable DMA, do you know where it is?

Maybe this is why its not there. Im actually at work now and testing it on my computer at work (Dell Dimension L933r) and its not there, but on my co-workers Dell 4100 it is there. Could possibly the L933r not have an UDMA controller causing that option to not even come up? Thanks!
