I get poor performance on IDE with this board and I dont know why. I run the newest Intel Chipset Utility. I then get a bad score of 15.4 in HDtach and 457 in Pcmark. That is horrible.

I cannot run the INtel Application Accelerator since it says for RAID use only. I dont have my RAID enabled nor am I using it. I have 1 IDE on the first IDE slot. What can I do to fix this issue???

Is DMA enabled for the drive? Using an ata-100 cable? The XP ide drivers should do alright no need for the IAA.

try a couple other benchmarks to be sure, like Sisoft Sandra, or IOmeter.

what kind of hard drive? RPM, cache size?

your average 7200rpm, 8mb cache will get around 30-45mb speeds

is the 15.4 for drive speed or access time?

Wow I found out what was the issue. In the bios it was setting Ultra DMA to disabled by default. I had to enable both to auto and it ran fine now. Thanks for your help.

Access time is 13ms

Burst Speed is over 80 now. It was 15.3 yes before lol.
