I just discovered today that my GTX 570 is running @ x8. I have no other cards in my rig so it should be x16. It used to run at x16 but it has been awhile since I checked it. Any ideas what could cause this? My specs are in my sig.

Check BIOS settings, do you have anything in the other PCI slots?

Already tried updating the BIOS, check my settings (although I could be missing something here), and I took the card out and cleaned the connectors. Nothing else is installed in any other PCIe or PCI slot. Both GPU-z and AIDA64 are telling me it is at x8.

Are you using the 6gb sata ports ?
Or have something usb3 plugged in or configured.

Read the Gigabyte manual, sometimes they claim pci-e lanes for bandwith. There are 16 available in the cpu controller and another 4 on the chipset. When they have add in usb3 controllers or a extra sata controller they use or shift resources.

yes, I am using them both. I thought P67 was not supposed to have the same problem that the P55s did. That could be the problem. I need to get an Extreme platform. s2011 can not get here soon enough

Nailed it!!!! You are my hero!

Disabling the USB 3.0 controller in the BIOS fixed the issue. Now I am running at x16.

Damn lga1155 !!!! I wonder how many other people have this issue and do not even realize it.

Probably afew, but still... in most cases its probably not costing people that much either.

Sucks you gotta disable to your usb3 controller to get it working though <.<

I guess potentially whoever purchased the same Gigabyte motherboard you did (or any other P67 board of theirs utilizing Turbo USB 3.0):

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3696#ov

Note: Turbo USB 3.0 utilizes 8 PCIe VGA lanes, so it is only possible to enable it with a single graphics card running at PCIe x8 on P67 chipset motherboards, or while using Intel® HD Graphics from the CPU (i.e. no VGA card) on H67 chipset motherboards. It is an option for high bandwidth users.

Is it possible to use the USB 3.0 ports without the Gigabyte "Turbo" option enabled?
