problem getting palm to work with serial to usb converter on laptop....

hey...

its a palmVx on a Compaq Presario 3000 laptop... it has no serial ports so i bought a usb to serial adapter to connect it... the drivers for the adapter are installed and its supposedly working and the same goes for the palm, but for some reason it just hangs when trying to hotsync... anyone done this ? anyone know whats wrong?

There are different types of Serial adaptors and some of them don't create a com port.

Is it a Serial adaptor or a PDA to USB adaptor?

I have had alot of luck with the belkin F5U409 it is availible at CompUSA and Circuit City.

Best Buy carries the IOGEAR GUC 232 and I have gotten these to work pretty well too.
