I saved some video as .mp2 using ati software and when I try to convert it with windows media encoder I get a "one or more codecs required to open this content could not be found". If I cant convert it with wme what can I use?

Did you install the DVD decoders when you installed MMC? You need to install them even if you don't have a DVD Rom drive so that the Mpeg-2 decoders get installed.

What version of drivers MMC are you using? My MPEG-2 captures have a *.mpg extension. I just encoded a short capture with WME9 and it worked fine. I'm using XPsp1, Cat 4.2 and MMC 8.9. WME9

I will check what driver I have when I get home. The problem is I accidentally saved some video as .vcr after realizing that I used the ati library to export to mpeg and the only choice was .mp2 and it takes up way to much disk space. I see no option to change it now. btw I?m running w2k server.

I'll see if I can duplicate that.
