Problem deleting Catalyst control center from my PC

Okay so I sold my 6970 and I uninstalled catalyst control center with CCleaner but in the task bar catalyst still shows up even after a restart, the location is "C: \Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CCC.exe and there is no uninstall option in the ati folder. any advice would be appreciated, thanks. im getting an nvidia card soon and I want to avoid any conflicts!

msconfig is showing "AMD external events utility" under services and Catalyst Control Center under startup, what the crap, shouldnt have CCleaner gotten rid of this?

Could I just manually remove the files, then use CCleaner to clean up any registry leftovers? Or is there a better way..

You should be able to do that safely I think, or you can try display driver uninstaller.
