Ok,
Situation:
I have an archive of wordpress, and i am able to extract, edit and re-pack the archive on Vista to wordpress.tar.gz (Using 7zip or gnuwin tar/gzip).
On my PHP Unix host i have a program (a wordpress installer) which reads the wordpress.tar.gz to install blogs from that archive.
However, this only works with the original wordpress.tar.gz.
If i edit files in the archive and create a new "wordpress.tar.gz" it constantly craps out with permission errors. I don't have shell access so i cant make the archive under linux.
