I bought NBA live 2003 through EA.com and enjoy playing it. But recently I tried many different methods to make a backup of this CD but never succeed. I can never play the game using the backuped CD even though all the files and directories are exactly the same as the original. Can someone advise me how I can make a playable backup CD for this particular game using CloneCD ? please?!

thanks

Did you have any problems making the backup CD using CloneCD (ie, errors, etc.)?

This doesn't help your problem, but have you considered using Daemon Tools to mount the backup from the HD? This would keep you from having to pop the CD in and out of the drive.

remember making a copy will only give u a copy, if you want to play the game off the copy, i think you'll need some type of no-cd crack

so if you want to play the game w/ the burned copy, you'll need the nocd program.

No errors using CloneCD (the latest version)
i want to be able to play the game with the backuped copy. Can you give me some instructions on how to do that? I'm not even sure if my backuped copy is being done properly.

Most newer games have copy protection....

Copy protection

There are several CD copy protection solutions, including SafeDisc, StarForce, and SecuRom. Most of these solutions work by duplicating errors. When it's created, a copy-protected data disc is burned with unique errors or physical flaws. Under normal usage these errors are ignored. But when you try to copy the disc, the CD-burning software tries to correct these errors. After receiving the first few errors, the burning software decides the disc is damaged and aborts the burn.

Alcohol 120% can duplicate these errors on new CD-Rs using a different backup method for each type of copy protection. Backing up your games is a two-step process:

You must identify the type of copy protection used on your games. But how? Use the internet.
Fire up Alcohol 120% and select Copy Wizard.
Under Datatype choose the copy protection of your game.
Click Next and begin your burn

Alcohol 120% rocks!!! It works!! Although at the begining of reading the backuped copy is a bit slow, but it's playable. Also, I found that mounting the image file on to its virtual drive works even better and faster. Thank you all for your help again. This is a really nice fourm.
