Problem converting some MPGs to FLV

I've been using Riva FLV Encoder to convert MPG's to FLV's for use on a website. Great app that has has done everything I needed up until now.
I've got some MPG's that it isn't able to convert. I figure this has to do with Codecs, but I'm lost when it comes to this stuff.

When I take one of the MPG's that is converting fine, open it up in WMP, and look at properties, it says
Video Codec: MPEG Video Decoder

When I do the same with one of the MPG's that I cannot convert to FLV, it says
Video Codec: CyberLink Video/SP Decoder DELL 5.3

I've tried a few other freeware mpg to flv converters. Some of them give me an error. Some of them say they completed the encoding, but when I try to play the FLV, there's no video.

Any help would be appreciated.

I see the Riva FLV Encoder can read AVIs. I assume the file is not big, so...

Can you get VirtualDubMod to read the video? If so, convert the video to a lossless AVI format like HuffYUV. Then Riva should be able to work with it.

And if that doesn't work I'll point you down an even harder path...
