Problem connecting to sites after spyware removal

I just removed the spyware called "news.dotnet" using MS Spyware removal tool and now everytime i'm trying to access a site i get a "404" error until i reload several times.
This happens on IE and Firefox so it seems that it is not browser related, i run a tool call "LSP FIX" but it didn't find anything wrong, i also updated my XP SP2 to the latest release but to no avail. Is there a way to fix this issue or do i have to reinstall the OS?
