Problem connecting to Samba shares in Win98

ugh

Platinum Member
Hi,

I've been trying to connect to a Samba share with my Win98 system but it always gives me the login prompt asking me for a password w/o prompting me to key in a user. It's always the IPC connection user or something. Anyone knows how to force Win98 to prompt the user name for me to logon to the Samba share?

Thanks.

What username/password did you put in for Win98. To my understanding, by default, Win98 is logged in as a username, with or without a password. You must at least have the same username for both Win98 and Samba, then key in the corresponding password.
