Problem configuring Thinkpad lpt1 with opcode Midi box.

I don't know what to do here. I have a IBM Thinkpad 380ed which I can't configure to use with my Midiengine Note/1+. Apparently there is a conflict with the printer port communicating with this device. I think I need a reference disk to change the configuration on the laptop. If anybody knows anything about this please drop me a line.
