Hello everyone. My friend built his PC this week and has a few questions.

Barebones:
Pentium 4 1.8A
Abit BD7 I845D Mobo
512MB Mushkin PC2100
Gainward GF4 Ti4200

After installing the video card he doesn't have the ability to change advanced settings such as AA, direct 3D, Open GL, etc. These options are nowhere to be found, I know where to look for them... Its frustates him alot and I wonder if these setting are available with this card. Again its the Gainward Geforce 4 ti4200 128mb version. Tried installing from CD and then 29.42 drivers directly from Nvidia. Both attempts with same result.

Also, do you prefer different RAM for overclocking? Can someone list the different speeds and what can be possibly be obtained. For example: PC2700 has a max o/c of 600mhz making your cpu 2.4 I don't want to spend extra money for faster/more bandwith DDR that his CPU can't take advantage of.

To get to the advanced properties...
 • Right click on the desktop
 • Click on Properties
 • Click on the Settings tab
 • Click on Advanced
 • Click on the GeForce4 Ti4200 tab
 • Click on Additional Properties
That's where you'll find the various settings you are looking for. :)

The best DDR is Genuine Samsung PC2700. Your friend should easily be able to run this RAM at a 3:4 ratio. With that ratio (assuming the CPU is running at 2400mhz), the RAM will run at 355mhz.

You can tell it's "real" Samsung memory, because not only will the chips say "Samsung", but so will the PCB.

wingznut, I appreciate the advice but thats the problem.... After clicking advanced inside the display settings, there should be approx 8 tabs but half are missing and that includes Geforce4 Ti4200.... Mentioned earlier tried to reinstall but no luck.

In the settings tab, there's no box in the lower right corner for "Advanced"? Or is it in the Advanced menu that you aren't seeing the GF4 Ti4200 tab?

But yes, they are available with the card. I have the same card.
