Hi ATOT car guys,

I've been having a problem lately where my car has very rough idling at certain times in first gear. It used to idle very rough in Park and Neutral, and it still does but to a lesser extent. Anyway, when I'm in first gear and I accelerate, but not enough for it to shift into second gear, the rpm's will drop really low after I step off the gas. The whole engine compartment shakes, and some warning lights in the dash flicker for a second, then the rpm's jump back up to normal idle (~1k rpm). Very seldomly, when I accelerate and step off the pedal, the rpm's will drop so low that the engine will just cut out completely. Happened once on the freeway, but it was bumper to bumper, so I just shifted to park and started the car again. Any ideas on what's wrong with my car? Thanks guys,

Ollie

I realize that this may sound farfetched, but if my car was acting like that I would take it to a mechanic to get it checked out. It could be something that is getting worse by the day and will cost you more the longer you wait.

My guess would be vacuum problems. Have all your hoses and lines checked out.

Heh, I thought he was gonna say something about TPS reports. :p

I guess I'll take the mechanic suggestion as soon as I find a new mechanic to deal with, I'm sick of these crooks I've been going to.

THANKS guys!
