Hi all,
I have a Sony 10x4x32 CD-R /RW. Recently when I try to burn mp3 files to a cd it just spits out the cd. I have tried different cds and at different speeds. I have also tried copying data, and copying a cd directly and it works fine with both. The problem seems to be with the mp3 files. I am using the usual Adaptec software.
Any suggestions?
Thx
Gary

Yes...Adaptec should be taking care of the conversion should it not? It has before.

Well, are you using Adaptec's EZCD Creator 4.02 or higher? (.02 is essential to fix the 4.0 bugs).

If it worked before and no longer works, you might consider reinstalling the program. I have had weird problems with EZ CD Creator before that were solved with a program reinstall. (While you're at it, make sure Direct CD is not also running.)

no no no no, what're you doing? don't use Adaptec. Sony's very own software burns mp3's to CD without having to convert them to wav format. I do it all the time since I got my Sony CRX 140E. Leave Adaptec alone because when it does do the conversion it doesn't work right. Some songs end up only being half on the CD. it's really weird. Try the CDXstreme software first. Trust me it works really well.

I'm using 4.02c and it used to work fine.
Do you think it would matter if there was a corrupted file in the list I'm trying to burn?
I may try reinstalling also.
Thx

Only software my Sony came with is the Adaptec. Nero gets great reviews too I hear.

What?!?!?!?!?! I thought all Sony CDwriters came with sony CDxstreme, maybe you need to call them up and ask. Where did you buy your burner?

I have had problems with Adaptec's EZ CD Creator - When it works, it works very well and I see no need to use any other burning software.

However, when it goes bad . . . it is a real pain.

My favorite tool is uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Plus, I NEVER have Direct CD on with EZ at the same time. That IS asking for trouble.

If your MP3 file is corrupted, it just won't be converted to WAVE - I found the track just gets left off the copied CD (or shortened to a few seconds).

What's the cost of Nero? Does it do all that EZ does? Is there a freebie ?
Thx
