I downloaded an update fow Windows 2000 Professional and then restarted. Now, I get the following message...

"Verifying DMI Pool Data
Boot From CD
Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and Press Enter."

Does anyone know the solution to this? Thank you!

Will the Windows continue to load? If not, then do like it says and insert your Windows 2000 disk and see what happens.

Do you know what update it was? Might need to boot from the Windows CD and get into Recovery mode before typing fixmbr (think that's the right command to fix the boot record on the hard drive)

It was the most recent update. It booted into what looked like safe mode after restart, and after that I kept getting the message posted above. I don't have the 2000 disk.

Changing the boot order did the trick. I don't know why or how it was changed, as I did nothing but install the latest Windows update.

Primary--floppy

Secondary--hard drive

Third Device--CD-ROM
