Problem after PS replaced

Hi Guys.

I just replaced my power supply in a Micro ATX system (CD-ROM, HDD, Floppy) because the fan on the old PS was starting to go. I know the basics about computer hardware and can generally do basic stuff. I figured I could handle this. I replaced the power supply and the computer posted, but when windows started it locks up after it goes to the "windows starting" screen. Everything seems to be getting power and the computer was working fine before I switched out the PS. The old PS did have a wire that attached to the motherboard labelled "Fan C", which the new PS doesn't have. All my fans are working, so I don't know if that's the problem or not. Any suggestions as to what I should look at, I don't want to reformat the HDD unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks

If all the fans are working as you say (Look closely at the CPU fan), then I would suggest swapping the ram around to different slots and unplug your CPU and clean everything off well.
Make damn sure that you unplug the cord to the power supply before working on it

Also check to see if the heat sink and fan are properly attached to the CPU.
