Probelm with W2K SP3 and Internet

After installing Service pack 3 on my W2k machine, I can dial up with my 56k modem just fine, but once connected it won't do anything.
When I open IE it says page cannot be displayed, and gives all the possible reasons. When I open Outlook Express it says Host could not be found....error 0x800CCC00.

My dial up says I'm connected to the internet, but its not sending and recieving any data. Any Ideas?

have you tried ping by ip address rather than name. get hold of an ip address that you know is pingable and see if you get a response. if you can ping by ip then your DNS is failing somewhere.
