Probation/Parole

Due to my job, I get notices of every parole release, and most probabtion releases as well. It's unbelievable the stuff that people have done, and are still able to get out. for example: I just got this gem today (no specific names/details for obvious reasons)

11350 H&S, 11377 H&S, 11379.6(a) H&S=he's a convicted drug user and dealer, not minor either.
148 PC, 31 VC=resisting arrest
11550 H&S, more drug stuff
20002(a)=hit and run
211 PC=robbery
459 PC=burglary
1203.2 PC=probation violation
245(a)1=assault w/deadly weapon
273.5=wife beater

The great news on this guy is that he's 24 years old. Which is not even really that young compared to a lot of these I see. Nor is his record particularly bad... These people are all over the place, everywhere you go! For those of you in California like me, check this out
http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/disclaimer.htm If you live in a decent sized city there's probably a ton of sex offenders all over your area as well. Makes you feel nice and safe, don't it?

No, just a drug dealin', wife beatin', felony assault committin', robbin;, burglarizin', guy who has already proven that he will resist arrest and violate probation terms. No big deal.

I guy was released on parole, for these reasons. It's very common. No names, dates, locations given. Where's the problem?

See, that's why you're not a judge, police officer, senator, college graduate, etc.

Unless they are gay sex offenders, I think you're relatively safe. :Q

We'll, I'm at least 1 of those, maybe more for all you know. Do you like having people like that around, maybe as a next door neighbor? As long as he's not a serial killer, right?

We should just execute anyone that breaks any law.

Irrelevant. A "sex offender" does not in any way shape of form make me personally not feel safe.

Above a certain level of crime I couldn't agree with you more. Most criminals can not be rehabilitated so why should society bear their burden. If penalties were stiff enough a lot of juveniles experimenting with crime WOULD NOT, unless they are criminals by nature and then we don't need them anyway.

He didn't cross any lines. No problem unless he posts something that identifies the POS.

That's exactly what I said right? My point was, that by the ripe old age of 24 this guy has already commited multiple felony level crimes, and has resisted with officers trying to apprehend him. He has also proven that he can't abide by the rules once he is released from prison.

Let me ask you this: How many chances should people have until they commit a crime that gets them locked up for life? Are any crimes bad enough to warrant life in prison? I'd like to keep this to an actual discussion rather than just straw-man arguments and name calling, if that's even possible.

I like how you take my sarcastic post of context, but I can't do the same for you. Sigh...

Good point. But aside from your own personal wellfare, would you agree that it would be less than desirable to have any of the above mentioned female relatives live near a "sex offender"?

Ok sorry for the sarcasm. But again, where do you draw the line?
