Well... I'm an hour into putting together my new box... and I think I just made a stupid mistake.... I had an old Enermax Noisetaker 470w (link) that I had planned on using in the new box.

The motherboard is an Asus P5B deluxe... and the large power connect... has several more pins than my powersupply has.... I take it the world switched to a new form factor and I missed it?

That's a 20 to 24 pin change.

I believe some motherboard will work with only 20 pins connected but there are 20->24 pin adapters

Give it a try with the 20-pin PSU ... as long as your power darw isn't too high it should work just fine.

Ive run a few systems from a 20 pin PSU (the one is even overclocked some) and there are no problems. The CPU power comes from the 4 pin 12V connector anyway.
