Probably missing something: Samsung Epic, how do you end a call within another app?

Say that I'm currently leaving someone a voicemail. I have my calendar app open and finish the voicemail and say bye. How do I immediately hang up afterwards? Right now when I say bye I press my home key, press my phone icon at the home screen, wait a few seconds for it to bring up the phone, then hit the end button. So the person on the other end gets a nice long silence period at the end of their message. My Touch Pro 2 had a dedicated hang up cancel/button. No matter what app I'm in I can hang up immediately.

If there's no dedicated key then you have to open the phone app up but instead of going all the way back to the home screen, why don't you access it through the notification bar up-top?

The notification bar should have an icon when you're on the phone. A little faster than going to the home screen. But yea, there's no way (that I know of) to directly hang up on phones without a dedicated start/end key.

Yes.

Notification bar is your friend. It takes a bit of getting used to but it works really well.

I know my vibrant has an "end" button right on the drop down notification panel when in a call.

If I understand what you're asking correctly, another option is to long-press on the Home key (not the soft-key) and the most recent or currently running apps (a total of six recent or currently running) will display on the screen and you can select the Dialer from there as well. I believe this is Android "multi-tasking" feature.
