Well, a few weeks ago I got a new EVGA 7900GT. I replaced my old EVGA 6800NU with it. I use a dual view setup. I have my Dell 20" LCD as my main display, then I have my 42" Panasonic 1024x768 Plasma TV as my secondary display. My old EVGA 6800NU had a DVI port and a 15pin Dsub port. I hooked my LCD to the DVI, and hooked my Plasma up to the 15pin Dsub since it has one of these ports. It worked great.

However, my new 7900GT has two DVI ports. I was thinking it would be no problem. I would just use the included DVI-to-15pin Dsub adapter. However, this does not work. For some reason, the graphics card is trying to communicate to the Plasma digitially over the 15pin Dub cable I have. Windows recognizes my Plasma TV and I can select it under Nview in the Nvidia drivers, but nothing is displayed on the Plasma TV. In NView, it names my Panasonic Plasma model number but puts (Digital Display) next to it. There is no way to force the DVI port to send an analog signal, therefore, I will not be able to use my Plasma TV at all with this graphics card.

I have tried using my Plasma as my primary display. By itself, in dual view and clone mode. It displays nothing.

The only time it works is when my computer is in the process of booting. The bios and boot screens are displayed on my Plasma. The Windows XP loading screen is displayed on my Plasma. However, as soon as it gets to the windows desktop, boom, no more display on my Plasma.

EVGA tech support has been no help. I have tried different Nvidia driver versions. No luck.

Unless I can find a solution, I will have to sell this graphics card and try to find one that has one DVI port and one 15-pin Dsub port so I can finally use two displays again....

I thought DVI ports only send out a digital signal unless you have a converter (like DVI->VGA)

I thought they could send out both. That is why there are DVI to VGA adapters included in the box with the graphics card. What if I only had an older CRT monitor. I wouldn't be able to use this card with it?

Disable Nview and use the Plasma as your sole monitor and see what happens.

There is no way to force the DVI port to send an analog signal,

Sure there is, if you are using the DVI>VGA adaptor the signal must be analog to the panel.

If the DVI port on your card is DVI-D, the analog adaptor can't work (uncommon these days) Obviously this is not the case since it works in VGA mode at POST and boot.

I suspect you have the output resolution/refresh set incorrectly in the drivers...hence no display when windows loads, and configures the output to your display.

Yeah, its got to be a driver issue....
I can't use the Plasma as my primary display. I unpluged my LCD and tried to just use the Plasma. No dice. I see the boot screen, but when it gets to windows, blank screen.
I don't think it is a resolution or refresh problem. I have an Nforce 6150 motherboard. It had a DVI out and a 15pin Dsub out. DVI to my LCD and 15pin Dsub to my Plasma worked great. It also worked on my old 6800NU. But my new 7900GT has two DVI ports.... the adapters don't seem to work (I tried both that come with the card and tried the plasma in both the different DVI ports. Didn't help.

I am using WinXP64. I don't know why it isn't working. I guess I can try component out and see if that works......sigh....

Win XP 64 may think your PDP is a digital device so is trying to send it a digital signal. See if you can unload the driver inf for your plasma and turn off DCC for your PDP and manuely spec 1024x768 as an analoug signal to your 2ndary dispaly
