Finally got DSL a couple weeks ago and downloaded the demo last weekend, it took awhile to find a server that didn't lag but once I did it was really fun.
Wondering if there are official servers(so I can find ones that work consistently) or if it is all player hosted.
Also about how many different maps are there...and there is a europe expansion right? I've already heard of desert combat mod.

there are tons of maps and servers, and yes there are official servers, jsut get the free version of "the all seeing eye" and it will find all the servers for you, the Ea servers are usually stable

If memory serves me correctly: 12 original maps, 2 free add-on maps, and 6 maps in the expansion. Here is where you can get The All Seeing Eye, it makes finding a specific server much easier. Like Glitchny
said, EA's servers are stable and usually populated, as are Nvidia's.

find the force refresh in your display properties advanced tabs. only in most recent drivers if at all

otherwise u gotta get powerstrip to force refreshrates in games.

I know this from other games...=) you need to run it in same resolution and refresh rate as your desktop to not have to adjust monitor at all...like the others said there are programs you can use, and I don't know about this game but in some game you can adjust it in INI files

There's another long BF1942 thread in this forum. Do a search, you'll get a lot of opinions from there.
