Hi running win me with gf2 pro card and just updated to latest det3 drivers from nv's site.System runs ok but i can't access additional propeties in the gf2gts window now. Comes up with "an error occured while while windows was working with the control panel file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DESK.CPL. Tried both the zip and exe versions and tried uninstalling old drivers, not unistalling etc etc.

Have you always installed Nvidia drivers?I think this problem you describe normally happens if you go from say Hercules/Asus/Creative drivers etc to Nvidia drivers without uninstalling the old one first,so you might have to make sure they are completely removed.Try removing your Video card from device manager via systems icon in Control panel & rebooting,it should redetect the card on bootup & ask for the drivers.

Hi thanks but i've tried all that. Its a new computer and as far as i can see its the nvidia ref. drivers. Been thru the registry and can only see nvidia for video card. Even removed any reference to nvidia from reg. and extracted a new copy of desk.cpl from windows cab. files and replaced in win\sys. Same error no matter what i do. This error is documented at the windows help site but i've tried all they suggest and more 🙁 One good thing tho, the system restore works great, saves a lot of messing about 🙂

Have you tried running another version of the Detonators? Try the older 6.31 drivers or the latest leaked 6.72 drivers.
