You have tried updating drivers?
If so, try rolling back drivers. That would prove whether or not it is a driver issue. I have a 9500 pro, and cannot use the new 3.2 Catalyst drivers because they cause some of my stuff not to work. 3.1 drivers work good for me though. =)

just tried rolling the drivers back....but the system crashed again after bout 5 min....what does that mean? is it a driver issue? could it be the control panel driver that is causing the problem and if so how would i roll that back?

Odd. Have you ever had the system running fine with the 8500 installed?
If not, you may want to try a different video card, just to prove whether or not the problems are related to your 8500.
I do not believe the control panel driver is required, so you could try disabling it also.

Also check your motherboard manufacturer's website to see if there are any known issues similar to this problem.

And post your system specs for further help.
