Prob w/ Bad Axe 2 Win setup

Hi

I'm setting up my bad axe 2 and it posts and everything and i can get into BIOS and the Win XP install seems to be ok. However, it won't detect any of my HDDs (I have 2, no RAID, just want AHCI). I set ACHI in BIOS and I don't even see the drives listed there. Also, when I load up the Intel AHCI and/or RAID drivers, XP doesn't see a drive to install to.
Am I missing something?

The drives are connected on the Blue (Intel) ports, the secondary ones (Black) are diabled in BIOS.

Thanks

EDIT: In BIOS it WILL recognize the drives on the Black ports though, why not the Blue?
Any advantages to using one over the other? Everything did work on the black ports but not on the Intel controller....what's up with that?

I even installed BOTH marvell and intel during setup and when I switched to the blue ports it did not recognize a drive to boot off of (this is after Win had installed on the marvell ports).

According to my manual (on page 16) it states that it's the Black SATA ports that are controlled by the Intel ICH7DH and the Blue are the Marvell ones.

i don't know what i was thinking, you're right. well, i'm just happy it works on the intel controller like I wanted it to. Thanks man

I just updated my computer with the same MB. I can't seem to get the thing to recognize my OS. I am getting the error: "Error loading operating system". I am using 2 SATA drives from a previous setup that had the CPU overheat. I was hoping to just drop in the new MB, RAM, PS, connect up and go.

I don't want to lose the data I already have... what should I do to get this going? I figured I'd need to install the RAID drivers from the floppies, but how to do it if I can't get into windows?

Also, I am having trouble with this thing shutting down instead of rebooting/restarting after BIOS changes and ctrl-alt-del. It shuts down, then when it restarts, it thinks it had a overheat shutdown 🙁 Even the reset button causes a shutdown (so does the main pwr button)

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
