It's possible. Someone I knew years ago was in a snowmobile accident, just bruised-up but didn't feel like he had any injuries that required medical attention. A full week later, he was complaining about stiffness and pain in his neck. Turns out he had broken his neck (actually fractured the vertebrae) and crushed the cervical disc. Had to have surgery to fuse the vertebrae and install hardware.I think it's the hurricane before the kick that did it. When he fell out to the ring u can see his neck hit the edge of the ring. Rey Mysterio just put the icing on the cake.
Wrestling is fake in the fact that the matches are choreographed. Hits are still real though. That's why they all die at 50. Scrambled brains with a (illegal) pain-killer cocktail. I'm sure the roids don't help either.
