Good afternoon everyone.

I recently reformatted my comp to remove a virus, and decided to beat the masses and upgrade, relatively early in Vista's life, to Vista.

I purchased a bunch of recording equipment, including Digidesigns Mbox2 Mini, which comes with the unilateral recording platform Protools. (http://www.digidesign.com)

My question, since pro-tools doesn't currently work with Vista, is there a way I could run it in compatability mode for XP, and install XP drivers? How does this work? Would installing XP drivers on my system with Vista ruin/hurt anything?

If there is a way, how would I go about doing it? Which packet of drivers from their website would you suggest? The CD version of protools I received is 7.0 I believe.

If this isn't the case, should I just get another hard drive and dualboot it up (XP & Vista)? I feel like this is so last-resort.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has a suggestion.

I do not think you can install any XP drivers in Vista... but I could be wrong!

You do not need a second hard drive to dual boot but I would recommend you to dual boot if you want to run something that does not support vista yet.

some XP drivers work with Windows Vista. There is a small chance that it might mess up Vista, though.

vista is the suck for audio.

tons of problems as microsoft has restricted audio drivers that aren't inline with their new "audio technology" that is used in xbox360, goal being to make games on xbox360 easy ports to vista.

i'd say go back to xp.
