This CyberHome CH-DVD 300S Progressive-Scan DVD (Silver) player is also hackable (with remote control codes available on the 'net) to play DVDs from all regions. Plays DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, SVCD, VCD, MP3, etc. After buying this I have retired my non-progressive-scan Norcent DP-300.

This DVD player has all the features I'm looking for, exept an LED display. For those interested, here are a couple of pictures:

Front View
Back View
Remote Control

This is probably not a good place to ask, but can anyone recommend a player with this set of features that does have a front panel LED display?

Bought two of the 500 series, and both had problems. You can't beat the price/feature ration but quality is lacking. Make sure you can easily return it.

Yup, same here. My CH-500 started locking up, skipping, etc after about 6 months. Warranty on mine was 90 days labor, 1 yr parts. Not worth fixing.

Yes, it can be made region-free. I have set it to region "0" and have watched "region 1" and "region 2" DVDs on this player.
