Surprised there is not much news of this, and what is reported mostly fails to mention the people surrounded and burned alive were pro-Russians.

Why is that?

Dozens of pro-Russian protesters retreat to a Trade Union building from a much large mob of armed right wing extremists, and as they surround the building they set it afire. People who try to jump out get beaten - sometimes to death. Majority of people die inside from the smoke inhalation.

This is a rather significant incident.

I guess since it makes Kiev look bad the Western media is trying to ignore it...

http://rt.com/news/156532-odessa-ukraine-brutal-attack/

“Militants from the Right Sector arrived from Kharkov to Odessa today. They attacked the center of the city first and then they moved on to the anti-Kiev protesters camp,” Albu told RT via telephone while in the hospital. “They attacked the camp with about 200 people there – 100 of whom were women and men over 50 and 60 years of age – with Molotov cocktails.”

“The people at the camp then barricaded themselves inside the Trade Unions House,” Albu said.

The Right Sector radicals then surrounded the building and “began throwing stun grenades and tear gas into the building...I was there inside the building and took part in the defense. We tried to defend ourselves as much as we could,” he added.

“When we were finally able to jump out of the window from the second floor, we were met by the Right Sector radicals. They beat us with their feet using bats and chains. My friend got an open head injury. I received a wound six centimeters long and am now in a hospital waiting to get stitches,” Albu stated.

“We were all covered in blood, our legs were beaten by bats,” he said.

'Police aren't defending us against this angry mob’

Ukraine is falling into a civil war. USSR put Ukraine together, after USSR collapsed, Ukraine was held together largely by inertia. It was not ready for this East-West NATO-Russia tug of war. Now it's coming apart at the seams.

Quoting a Russian propaganda source means pretty much nothing.

Don't be so naive... they are as much "propaganda" as CNN, BBC, FoxNews, etc...

And it just so happens they are reporting on this story with far more accuracy than the others.

But if you choose to bury your head in the sand....

Except, they're not. RT is state owned by the Russian government. Period. End of story. They are, by definition, a mouthpiece for governmental propaganda.

Say what you will about the quality of journalism of western media, Fox News and CNN aren't owned by the government.

Your hyperbolic comparisons and false equivalencies make you look and sound downright foolish.

*sigh*

I dont know why I feel like entertaining your ignorance, but here goes:

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d0a_1399079038

Video taken by someone outside the building as the pro Kiev protestors hurl molotov cocktails at the building, and even one guy (wearing Ukraine colors on his sleeve) brazenly fires his gun at the building. The savages cheer as molotov cocktails explode in the building and fires erupt.

Oh but maybe the phone that recorded that video is a pro-Russian propaganda phone?

Search liveleak for plenty of more including highly graphic video of people entering that building after the fire is out and dead bodies litter the inside.

Where are the police in all this? :hmm:

So do you appreciate the irony that the Russian owned news channel you so wildly claim is just propaganda is reporting more truth here?

And BTW the only difference is nuance. While Russia may directly fund RT News, the US Corporate Media is funding the US Govt. (the tail wags the dog in our case -- the Corps and special interests run our Gov)

You're a putz.

Russia Today is openly a propaganda arm of the anti-democratic and authoritarian regime under Putin. That media wing has been caught presenting countless lies and selective reporting to further the Putin regimes' agenda of greater Russian nationalism. Those are undeniable a facts.

lozina, you are nonsensical to classify the heavily armed gunman that used forced to take over that government building as mere protesters. It is unfortunate that many died. Yet the reality remains that when instigating civil strife and rebellion with heavy fire-arms, a cost and risk are selected.

BBC is owned by the British government.
A dishonest and false equivalency.

Unlike Russia Today and all other current Russian Media, in no editorial nor reporting way does the British government guide nor control the content and message of BBC journalism.

BBC

Ukraine's interior ministry said the fire broke out in Odessa's Trade Unions House but it did not give details of how the blaze started.

The exact sequence of events is still unclear, but reports suggest the separatists had barricaded themselves inside the building and both sides were throwing petrol bombs.

Like yours where the expectation seems to be that the police should step in to stop a radical militant faction of their population helping a hostile foreign territory "annex" parts of their country from getting slaughtered, but should do nothing when said radical militant faction slaughters their citizens and servicemen in order to "annex" parts of their country?

Keep dreaming, silly Russian shill.

So, you still haven't watched the videos?

Just going to quote British funded media after you criticize Russian funded media?

See, a rational person would at this point view the evidence on liveleak and perhaps see for themselves what the situation was. But you continue to advertise how biased you are.

So now these 100 or so pro-Russian demonstrators who were mobbed and had many of them massacred were going to annex Odessa all by themselves?

Just when you think it cannot get any more stupid....

They should do their job and protect the civilians, no matter what their political choices may be. See, in "real" democracies people are allowed to voice their views and vote on their destinies. These people were exercising that right. Until they got brutally massacred.

Your presentation is of faux outrage sourced by fabrication and a lie.

I checked multiple sources and today's events are presented as top stories.

Hardly ignored as per your dishonest OP. lozina is trolling.

Oh good, 17 minutes ago BBC story on it finally made the top of Google News, which was previously MERS story followed by something about Samsung and something about Tim Kaine.

How many hours after RT already posted with more details?

BTW you watch the liveleak videos yet?

Pretty horrific what the pro-Kiev radicals did, no?
