In the late '90s, Silverball Studios developed a number of pinball simulations, under the Pro Pinball name, which were highly realistic simulations of some very fun, original pinball machines. To this day they are the best pinball simulators I have ever seen, and the games (particularly Timeshock) had some of the best replay value of any game I have ever played.

They now want to remaster their existing tables to take advantage of all the technological capabilities of modern computers, as well working with a famous pinball machine designer, Pat Lawlor, to develop an all-new table using the same game engine.

I suspect this is one of those things that may sound lame to someone who never played the original, but I also think anyone who did would find this exciting news.

I pledged today and I encourage you to at least go take a look, at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1790321238/pro-pinball-revived-and-remastered

That's pretty sweet that they got Pat Lawlor in on it. What I'm really waiting for is that damn Pinball Arcade to get released on the PC. Beginning to wonder if they'll ever get it out. Seeing as how the Pinball Arcade has been in development for a good while in recent years, I'd wonder how this reimagining of the old Pro Pinball series would stack up.

Personally, I've got all the Pro Pinball off of GOG.com. Spent countless hours playing them, never really got that far on the tables though.

Pinball Arcade physics are not good at all and the tables are buggy. Pro Pinball on the other hand was very good for the time. I would hope they can maintain the quality, however $400k is a bit lofty goal.

They're making one new table and 4 remakes. $15 gets you the new one, it takes $50 for the remakes also - getting pretty pricey.
