Need a little assistance. Looking for a mid to highend digital camera for use with my graphic design business. However, I have no clue where to start, (been using film for 10 years). Needs to be great quality, but I'd like to keep the price around $1000 - $1500. Don't need alot of lenses or anything, just a standard 20 - 35mm or 35 - 200mm, something like that. The highest resolution possible, because it'll be used for press work. (300 - 600dpi). Any suggestions or personal testimonies of some sort would be very much appreciated. If you don't have any specifics, I guess a little idea of what I should look for would do nicely.

:)

TIA

Are you looking to get a higher end "point and shoot", a SLR (changable lenses), or somewhat of a cross?

How accurate do you need exposure to be? Extremely critical? Do you use flash?

This site reviews every single camera on the market. They have huge reviews including sample galleries from each camera that THEY took, not the manufacturer. I always refer to it before making suggestions.

You can't do a digital SLR for that price. Usually pro's use their normal 35mm body and get a digital back. The back's will set you back at least $5000 though. This is the setup that pretty much everybody uses now.

Entry level digital SLR's are about $2000 like the Canon EOS-D60.

Teriba, thank you very much... that's exactly what I needed. Looks like it's gonna be a little more expensive than I originally planned... but hey, that's the story of my life, right? lol

Anyways, thanks. :)
