I know there are threads on this....but for some reason the Search Function never works for me...and in any case a new discussion might not hurt anyway.

Has anyone here got this done? This PRK seems like it takes longer to recover but has less risk and makes more sense. I am just really scared of going blind for the rest of my life. I mean what if the guy messes up? What if I have to sneeze the moment they turn on the laser? It seems like a lot could go wrong, and yet the benefits are awesome...

I recently asked my optometrist about this and each type of surgery has it's pros & cons.

PRK: Longer healing time, less "dry eye",fewer potential long term problems
Lasik: Short healing time, potential "dry eye", more potential long term issues

Then there was some other type where they insert a "plastic piece" into the eye to change the shape and correct the vision. I don't remember what it's called but its primary benefit is that it's reversable.
