Oh puh-leeze, Mr. I-know-every-about-partisan-hackery. The high tax democratic bastillion of Chicago has been contracting out many of it's services to private companies. This is no separation between left & right.

Want some cheese with that whine of false equivalence?

Has Chicago contracted out the right to collect usurious fees from citizens, jail those who don't pay? Or have they contracted out parking meters?

What the fuck...this is like the last step before being sold into slavery.

EDIT: The above just doesn't cut it. I'll add that those who thought this was a good idea should be shipped off to the middle of Africa and sold into slavery themselves. How could they come up with this ridiculous crap?

They're disconnected from their constituents' real situations. Their worlds don't touch, other than at the courthouse. They spent $35 on lunch. It's not like the conservative elite gives a damn about the people who vote for 'em, anyway.

If she can afford to drive a car, she can afford to pay the fine for driving that car irresponsibly.

These companies don't force the cities and counties into contracting with them. Someone made that decision. If you believe that decision was made not in good faith, then investigate the politicians and administrators who made it. If everything still checks out, then you should expect the city or county to out that person for making a bad decision.

At the end of the day, the moral of the story is don't break the law if you can't afford to pay the fine.

At the end of the day, the elitist right wing authoritarian assholes who run too much of this country will be defended at all costs, blame shifted onto their victims.

Like I said, if there is some sort of collusion going on between the politicians/administrators that enter into these contracts, then that should be punished. If there isn't, then the citizens who voted those people in should do their civic duty and get rid of people they don't agree with.

All of the terms of these contracts are spelled out in the contracts themselves. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. The onus here is on the local governments and the people who voted those people into office.

Oh, and on this girl for breaking the law.

But, hey, why don't you go on being emotional and ignoring facts/logic. Seems to be working great for the poor of this country.
