I'd try to live in a good area and send them to a good public school.

High school or college?

I went to private, and hated it. Nonetheless, I hate more the pervasive stupidity of those around me, and I will give my children any opportunities to rise above the rabble, from an educational standpoint. So, I will either send them to private school or move to an upper class suburb that has a superior public school system.
We will drive crappy cars and cut corners if we have too, to send our kids to a good school system. Of course, since I went to a private school I'm smart enough not to have to![]()
I don't entirely agree. I never wanted to learn, and feel that I could have blended in more in a public school with those who didn't. My class was small and there were far fewer places to hide. I've seen prodigies go to public schools and do fine, but I wasn't one of them. I have to question where I'd be if I'd have gone to a public school.Originally posted by: HappyPuppy

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
Public/private makes little difference if the kid want/doesn't want to learn.
