I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask, so if it isn't please tell me which forum would be appropriate and I will request that the topic be moved.

What I want to do is setup a private Peer to Peer or file sharing service. I want it to be invite only and be able to administrate it(kick/ban users etc). The service would be used to transfer LEGAL files such as jokes, help documents, java games, journals, etc. Some content will be private hence the reason why I am seeking a private way of transfering. I am fairly computer savy and have a lot of experience with computers but others that would be in the group are not which is why am not using FTP servers. Are there any programs to do this that are similar in use to kazaa, bearshare, etc so the users will be familiar with the interface. Also, there will be no central server.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you could try setting up a direct connect hub, or if all the files are small just have one person set up an ftp with a password
