Private message sending quite slow

Hello,

It appears as of late (few months) that sending a private message takes quite a bit of time longer than any other function of the software. It's usually not a big deal but I will receive 2 or 3 of the same message sometimes because people end up pressing it twice because it looks like it has stalled out.
 
I have not had any problems sending messages but have received multiple mesages from a couple other people on a few occasions. I just thought they were experiencing a hiccup. Anyone else?
 
Hmm.

Pages load in under a second but I just sent a few PMs and it took 16 seconds for one of them to send and 20 for the other.
 
I can't even send private messages. My boxes are not full yet the message I sent yesterday and today don't appear in my sent box. It's like they just disappeared. I wish there was some warning so I could save a copy. Now both messages are vapor and I really don't want to rewrite them.
