Let's say I reply to a PM and then notice the user doesn't have PMs enabled. Does the user receive it anyway, since it's a reply to one they sent?

If you send a PM to a user without checking if they have PMs enabled, what happens to the message if it turns out they have PMs turned off?

I think they go into a giant PM zapper and are obliterated.

The reason I say this is because it has happened to me, and I never got the PMs.

?

Simply disappears.

For example, if somebody has disabled PM's since the last time you PM'd them, & you PM them again, it will appear to go through fine. But if you look at your history, your message won't show.

As to where they go, I'm pretty sure they're printed out & sent to Siberia to use as firestarter for banned trolls.

I hope that's not the case, since it seems not a good way to handle things. Having them just disappear isn't very elegant. Couldn't the system tell you when you enter the username (or click Reply, if that's the case) that that person doesn't have PMs enabled?
