Private message link still seen for users with PMs disabled

I wanted to send a user a quick PM to indicate that I had replied to a question they'd asked, so I clicked on the PM icon. The window opened up fine, I was able to write the message, but only when I clicked "send" did a page come up that said "User does not want to receive Private Messages".

So if there's any way to remove the "Send PM" icon for users who have them disabled, could you please do it?
