Private cd copying is made legal

Private cd copying is made legal. In Denmark
The minister of Culture will make it legal to make digital copies but only for your own home. Denmark is the only country in the world that prohibit digital copying.
The minister of Culture Elsebeth Gerner Nielsen does not dare to let digital copying free under the same rules as analog copying. In stead the government will make a so called 'special rule', which will permit digital copying for personal use within a household.
The internet has made it necessary to change the law. It was originally made to prevent copying of cds bought in stores and we can now see it is too tight, office chief Johannes Nørup-Nielsen from the minister of Culture explains.
He points out, that the development since the 'forbuddet' from 1995 has show, that there is a need for downloading music and video for private use. And the limit in the new proposal draws the line at personal use within the household. It will still be illegal to burn a cd with your favorite music and send to your cousin.
