Printing XP Home --> XP Pro

So I have a laptop with XP Home, I'm printing to a computer with XP Pro.

Every once in a while I'll get a communication error from the laptop. Here's what fixes it:

Go to printer host (with XP Pro).
Right-click My Comp-->Manage
Local Users/Groups-->Users
Set blank password for Guest account.

This fixes it and allows it to print. But the problem keeps coming back.

What causes this? Anyone have any ideas?
 
Try searching the Web for "force Guest Windows XP": although I wouldn't consider myself an authority on the subject enough to answer your query myself, this search should shed some light on the problem behind the issue. BTW, I'm not sure it's ever a good idea to try printing to XP Pro from any "lesser" OS. 🙁D
