Printing via printer sharing on windows

I just got a new Canon IP4500 that replaced my old samsung ML1740.

I have a windows PC that the printer is directly connected to. Printer is shared.
My macbook can see the printer just fine. However, it will not print.

I have tried a couple things.

Using the IP4300 driver (GutenPrint) the printer will spit out a blank sheet no matter what I'm trying to print.

Using the correct IP4500 driver nothing happens at all.

The connection is using SMB to connect to the printer.

Any suggestions?
