I have a Canon MultiPASS F30 color inkjet printer connected to an HP JetDirect 500x.
I have confirmed that both devices work seperately by connecting the printer (by parallel cable) directly to my computer and I am able to print fine. I have also used the JetDirect with a HP 2500C color printer and I am able to print through our network (using the IP address). But when I connect the Canon MP F30 to the JetDirect, I have no problems adding the printer but when I try to print it shows the Test page stuck in the printer queue and it never actually prints. Anyone know why this would happen?

The port # is 9101 and I have it on the second port. Doesn't work on the first port either (when set to 9100).

In a related question, I also have a HP 2500C (color inkjet) Printer. It didn't come with an internal print server so I installed an HP Jetdirect (J2550) and the default IP address (after resetting the printer) is 192.0.0.192. How do I access the internal jetdirect card so I can set the IP address and use it as a network printer? I have no problems if I use an external Jetdirect 500x but can't seem to get the internal one to work. Any suggestions?

ETA: Nevermind, I figured out how to telnet into the jetdirect and change the ip address. So I was able to resolve my own problem. Of course, I do notice that it takes longer for the job to print than it does when I have the printer connected to the external print server.
