printing/scanning to PDF?

does anyone know of how to get this done in windows? Any specific software on the scanner side that will scan to pdf?

Currently, you can't scan directly to PDF.

You need to OCR scan the document and then convert to PDF.

Scansoft's Ominpage 12 Office Suite would do the job.

acrobat 4.0 could do that...sadly they removed the functionality in acrobat 5.0

Any version of Acrobat has both Acrobat Distiller and the Acrobat print driver with it that would allow you to print to PDF. You need Acrobat Messenger or Acrobat Capture to scan to PDF, neither of which I would expect you to have just laying around.

If you want to convert a printed document to PDF, I suggest using your standard OCR procedures and then printing to PDF.

Actually SoftCopier 5 Professional Edition claims the ability to create a pdf file of up to 10 pages long. I have used previous versions of this product, and it works well. However, I have not upgraded to version 5, so my suggestion would be to download the trial version and see if you think the program is worth $65.
