I have one machine that for some reason when it prints it prints a header (the file name) and a footer (the location of the file on the computer). On other similar computers this does not happen.

The only time I have seen similar behavior (although no document location was printed) is when using notepad.

Is there a setting in word 2k3 that causes this or is it a printer setting.

The printer (if it matters) is a dell 3100cn connected via tcp/ip.

sounds like someone inserted the file name Autotext into the header, and the file location into the footer, and then overwrote the Normal.dot template, so all new documents have that. Take them out, and save over Normal.dot again, or copy Normal.dot from one of your other computers.

Think it's a bug in 2003. Updating print drivers won't help. You will probably have to reformat the document.

It turns out it was a user error:eek:

The client some how added a footer with the file location in it. An easy fix but not when a computer novice is describing the issue.
