Printing Error Message from Novell server

At work today I kept getting an "Out of Paper" message popping up like every minute. Luckily if I keep working it will not steal focus. But the thing is, I never printed anything the whole day and I was the only one to use that computer that day. There is no print manager that shows something in queue. And finally, the printer does have paper and I can go and print fine. Appearantly that message is there from a while ago... We use some Novell thing (sorry don't know anything about Novell). I right clicked the Novell icon in the system tray and looked all over for a print queue but there wasn't one to be found.

I went back to the server to see what's up but it's command line stuff. I've never used any Novell things but how do I get rid of this annoying printing message?

Also, no one at work knows anything about it or computers really so no one else could fix it.

Thanks.

On the Printer Driver turn off "NOTIFY", you might need to go into the Novell Client Properties in Network Properties and change it on the Default Capture, that will stop that damn message, and then turn that printer off then on again to clear the messages coming from the Queue.

In the printer driver... do you mean when you right click the printer and goto Properties? What if it doesn't have it in there? I don't remember seeing such a thing. It's using an IBM ProPrinter driver from the win98 cd even though its an Epson FX 880 because the FX 880 driver prints out 2 pages everytime for some reason.

Can you explain the default capture thing more?

Bump to clear it up or if anyone has anything else to add. I'll check it before I goto work tomorrow morning. I hope it works. Don't want another day of having that damn message popping up.

I'm not at work now, so this may be a little off. The setting Tasslex is referring to is not in the printer settings itself. It is an option in the novell client. If you have a red letter "N" in your system tray, right click on it and go to properties. Then look for settings that pertain to "notify" and such. Sorry it has been a long time since I have done this, so can't be more specific.

Whats happening is you are being notified that the printer needs attention. I wouldn't do anything on the server end, just the client on the workstation.
