Printers with the cheapest ink

It has now become clear to me that if you're going to print even a moderate amount of things with your printer, then the price of ink matters even more than price of the actual printer. So what company or printer's ink offers the best bang for buck? As long as the printer is under say $600, so laser printers would be out of the question.

Canooooon ... no-nonsense ink cartridges (just a plastic box with a sponge, ink, and a mirror inside), separate ones for EACH color (from the i/S400 series upward), even lower cost 3rd party ink available.

Canons are always a good choice when you want to save on ink. They many times offer separate ink cartridges for each color so that you dont have to change them all when one color runs out and Canon inks are very cheap most of the time

Canon. $36 for 18 cartridges (free shipping) from megatoners.com. No quality loss as long as you use high quality paper.

If you want the cheapest ink, then most people use either generic ink carts or refillable ones.I`ve been using generic compatible ink cards with my Epson printers for 4 years now,I would say the savings over the manufacturers ink carts has been huge.

Ink quality is very good for the ones I use.
