printers suck!

I just put a new generic printer cartridge into my Epson yesterday. When I printed it wasn't Epson quality but alright. Today nothing will come out of the cartridge. This is the second generic cartridge to do that. The type is Color Jet, w/ the C and the J white, and the other letters are red and yellow. I may buy a less crappy generic. Or go back to Epson. <gasp> Anyone know if the ink destroyed my printer?

Suggest you change the title of your note to "Generics Suck." 🙂

You get what you pay for.

Try printing a couple more pages and see if anything comes out... sometimes there are air bubbles in the cartidge, and may require a little "breaking in" to work properly...

the problem may be that the heads are clogged, which is what you get.

buy a few epson cartridges and use coupons i suppose.

the ink probably did not destroy your printer, well, did you poor the ink all over the circuitry? ;-)

well the ink can clog the print heads. if it gets clogged badly, you'll spend a lot of time and good ink running the clean utilty.

i know this is a contradiction of terms, but use "brand name" generic inks. "Ko-Rec-Type" has worked for me.
