Printers - "Prints Up To 9600 x 2400 dpi"

Ok, I have a question. When a printer says it prints up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, I dont understand, so I have a few questions.


1) How do you get a printer to print at the max? I have This One

2) Does an image have to be 2400dpi for it to print out at 2400 dpi? Or is like dpi how many nozzels it has?

Before you print go to print setup or properties and select a photo media and choose the high quality setting.

It will be printed at 2400dpi no matter what the original image resolution was...however it won't be of much use.

The finest dpi is used for printing photos on photo paper. This allows the fine color differences required for a good looking photo. This setting would be of little use on a standard text page and often requires more time to print.

On plain paper the standard setting will print with better speed and about as good a result as the paper can absorb.

You will only get the finest setting with photo paper and high quality selected, regardless of what paper is in the selected tray.

It always prints at 2400 dpi but if you have a bad image, it will still be bad, just more exact.
